Start ins neue Projekt
Nach langer Planung kann endlich unser groß angelegtes Projekt im Rahmen des Global Grants mit den Rotary Clubs Aachen und Lilongwe starten. Aufgrund der dynamischen Situation und Verzögerungen in der Genehmigung haben wir das Projekt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Rotary Club Aachen dreigeteilt. Damit wir nun zeitnah starten konnten haben wir ein Sofortprogramm aufgesetzt, mit dem nun die ersten Tonnen gekauft und zu Biokohletonnen verschweißt werden konnten. Die ersten Trainings können nun auch starten, wie in den Bildern gezeigt. Jetzt wird in den Communities Biokohle produziert, um sie für die anstehende Aussaat zu Biodünger zu verarbeiten.
Im weiteren Verlauf wird bis Mai nächsten Jahres das Projekt durch einen DIstrict Grant finanziert bis dann im Mai 2024 der Global Grant offiziell startet und über zwei Jahre laufen wird. Wir sind sehr stolz auf alle Beteiligten und dankbar für alle Spenden die eingegangen sind. Wir freuen uns, dass es nun vor Ort losgehen kann.
After a long period of planning, our large-scale Global Grant project with the Rotary Clubs of Aachen and Lilongwe can finally begin. Due to the dynamic situation and delays in the approval process, we have split the project into three parts in close cooperation with the Rotary Club of Aachen. In order to be able to start promptly, we have set up an immediate program with which the first tons could now be purchased and welded into biochar barrels. The first training sessions can now also start, as shown in the pictures. Biochar is now being produced in the communities to be processed into organic fertilizer for the upcoming sowing season.
The project will continue to be financed by a District Grant until May next year, when the Global Grant will officially start in May 2024 and run for two years. We are very proud of everyone involved and grateful for all the donations that have been received. We are delighted that we can now get started on the ground.
